Everything You Need to Know About Coaching

Your Questions, Answered!

How do I find the right coach?

There are lots of incredible coaches out there, and many offer a free introductory session so you can get a feel for the coach's style, talk through your goals for coaching and decide if you think it's a good fit. It's important to ensure the coach you work with has completed accredited training, adheres to a code of ethics, and is transparent about how you will work together.

What qualifications do you have?

I have completed an Accredited Advanced Certificate in Coaching Practice, fully accredited by the Association for Coaching, and I am an Associate Member. This means I adhere to their code of ethics at all times, and I've been independently assessed and verified as working to a high professional standard. I receive clinical supervision regularly to maintain high standards in my coaching practice. Other qualifications include:

- BA(Hons) Social Sciences - Psychology Degree

- COSCA Accredited Counselling Skills

- SCQF 9 Senior Leadership & Growth

- Brene Brown Brave Leader Certified

Is coaching different from therapy?

Yes! Coaching focuses on personal and/or professional growth, future goals, and actionable strategies, while therapy might address things like past traumas and/or mental health concerns. Coaching is often about change, progress and transformation. If you're not sure whether coaching or therapy is the right fit for you, we can talk it through together, and I'll be honest about whether coaching is right for you. I can also recommend some incredible therapists if that's a better fit for you.

How long does it take to see results?

Results vary depending on your commitment and goals. Some clients experience breakthroughs in just a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing coaching for long-term success. I recommend at least 6 sessions to get the benefit of the process and to give yourself time to see progress

Can coaching help with career growth?

Absolutely! Whether you're looking for a career change, leadership skills, or work-life balance, coaching provides guidance and strategies to realise your potential and see professional growth. So much of our lives is dedicated to work, so we want to ensure it's aligned with our values and strengths and makes other important aspects of life possible.

What should I expect from my first session?

Your first session is all about understanding where things are for you right now, and where you want things to be. We'll discuss your goals, challenges, and commitment. Coaching is all about what's important to you, so we always start there. Together, we will build a road map from where you are now, to where you want to be, one manageable step at a time.

Is coaching right for me?

If you're feeling stuck, unmotivated, or unsure about your next steps, coaching can help. If you're ready to take control, make positive changes, and create a life you love, coaching can be a great way to get there! Throughout our sessions together there will be regular check-ins to make sure you're getting everything you need from the process.

How do I get started with coaching?

Getting started is easy! Drop me an email or give me a call, and we can talk about what's important to you and set up a free introductory session. There's no hard sell involved, just a conversation about what's important to you, then you can take the time to decide your next steps.
